Midlake’s latest offering has been highly-anticipated by nearly everyone who heard their previous album, The Trials Of Van Occupanther. With magazines and websites serving up big ratings over the last month, The Courage Of Others has had a bit of a fall since its release. Many fans seem disappointed or even outraged by it, as if Midlake owed them something better. Opinion is divided, with many people on both sides of the argument unable to see the other’s point of view. My experience with it so far has given me a definition that lies between the two camps.
